Italy To Receive Unlocked 3G iPhone In Time For Summer?

According to reports by well respected Italian website Repubblica.it, Telecom Italia is set to launch the iPhone 3G in Italy by early Summer.
Republicca report that the new iPhone model will be based on 3G (UMTS) technology and will be sold primarily through Telecom Italia Mobile. The 3G iPhone device will not be locked to any provider but it is expected that TIM will hold an initial lead over the other carriers for a few months.
Apple are widely believed to announce the U.S release of their 3G iPhone at the WWDC event in June.
