Information Week is today reporting that Timothy Cook, chief operating officer at Apple, stated in a conference call with Wall Street analysts on Monday that Apple still has confidence in their carrier partner. While Cook agreed that AT&T’s mobile broadband network is not as fast as Apple would like in cities such as New York where there’s a high density of iPhones, he said that Apple believes AT&T is making strides to correct the traffic issues. Does this mean that reports of the two companies falling out and Apple possibly dropping AT&T as their exclusive iPhone carrier are premature and dubious to say the least? Cook’s comments certainly hint at that, but who really knows? Of course we’ll all know a lot more once Apple holds its forthcoming product announcement shindig this Wednesday 26th in San Francisco, at which it is expected to unveil the iPad.
Needless to say, Cook wasn’t offering up any spoilers ahead of the big reveal!
