EDGE-less has completely come to an end

December 6th, 2007

This ongoing series continues…

Popular iPhone writer for the blog TUAW, Erica Sadun, has written a follow-up to all of this EDGE mess. Her post clears up everything and this situation seems to make sense.

Erica confirmed through a few chats with AT&T Support that you can no longer remove the data plan. I’m not sure what happened when AT&T did offer this option previously (both over the phone and through the AT&T myWireless account page online) and suddenly removed it, but we now know it is gone.

If you already have removed your plan, don’t worry. AT&T isn’t putting it back on anyone’s plan. Hey, they gave you the option remove, and you said yes, right? It would be unfair if they did.

I thought it was very nice when AT&T offered this, but apparently things didn’t work out as planned.
