Alongside yesterdays macbook announcement apple also issues a press release announcing that Paul McCartney's new album "Memory Almost Full" is available for pre-order from the iTunes store (his first digitally distributed album).
“Paul McCartney is one of the greatest musicians of all time, and we're extremely excited to offer his first digitally distributed album on iTunes,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. Speaking on Friday, McCartney said that a deal to finally make the Beatles catalog available for sale online is "virtually settled." McCartney added, "I don't want to pre-empt anything, but we're well on the way to something happening there, which is very exciting." I for one cant wait to see the entire beatles back catalog available on itunes. |

Would be interesting to see how this is played out behind the scenes, doesnt Jackson still own a good % if not all of The Beatles back-catalogue?
