I know there is 4Gig & 8Gig, but for example the iPod video, there was 30Gigs promised, but there was actually only 27. Do you think this will be the case with the iPhone?

You have to realize, that in every "size" issue regarding computers and drive sizes, there's going to be loss due to cluster size as well as how much space the OS takes. When you buy a 400gig Hard Drive at the store, you end up with 380+gig of usable space. Some of the drive's space is used for the 'map' of data - and same with iPhone.

I think they said the OS is 700mb, and you end up with 7.27gb free out of the box.

Ok thats cool. As long as it doesn't take up several gigs.
