Why Can't IPhone Send Text Msgs Via Bluetooth?

I'm an iPhone owner who owns a vehicle that has Microsoft SYNC in it. Unfortunately I can't take advantage of the audible, hands-free text messaging feature because iPhone's aren't able to send text messages out via Bluetooth.

A tech support representative from SYNC told me that the Apple iPhone not only isn't able to do this, but it never will be in the future either. Does anyone know why such a popular smartphone would fail to have this simple capability? It's killing me to now be able to use my iPhone for this feature in my car

there are alot of things iphone cant do and we are all mind boggled by apples inability to make simple features available for the i phone... i think eventually we will be able to and the next generation iphone will have this.. unfortunately time will only tell...
