That sounds like one of the services got stopped or disconnected.

Make sure your RPC over HTTP services are running.

Also restart exchange (not the server just the exchange services)

restart IIS

Go to your system Manager and check the first group store and make sure that all the protocols are running except the nntp one.

I think this will resolve your problem.

Hello Fellas:

I have some success utilizing the Exchange feature, but it is limited to within the private network (Office WiFi and works great). At my home (another WiFi, but different private subnet) I cannot get updates, which leads me to believe that the port, although supposedly opened at my office Netgear FVS124G, is being blocked.

Do you guys have any other suggestions? I haven't had the opportunity to test a third WiFi, and the one I am at now is a companion Netgear (FVS114) with a VPN tunnel running. Can the Exchange server talk to a different private IP? I thought it shouldn't matter with a Secure Cert. and a successful connection. (Although a secure cert. shouldn't be necessary)

Thank you.

cporto

Still having trouble getting the iphone setup correctly with exchange. We are running exchange 2003 and OWA. I got IMAP and owa enabled, and RPC over http enable but have no luck. I always get the "Cannot Connect Using SSL",Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL"
Should I be setting this up using SSL and if so, what changes do i need to make? If I click "YES" it tries to verify but always get " username or password in incorrect. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Here's a really great walkthrough guide that will help you out:

It goes into a lot of detail so hopefully that'll fix it for you.

I have a similar problem. I can reply to all other mail except from my domain.
Here is how I set up the iPhone:
mail--->other---IMAP. I did not choose exchange. I was following a document I found somewhere on the net.
Could this be my problem?

Secondly per iPhone tech support:
Inbound I use owa address: webmail.exchange.com
username and password
Outbound mail: att smtp

with this setup am able to receive but not able to reply to mydomain but can respond to all other domains.

Are you sure that is what you have in your outgoing host "smtp att"? Mine is setup the exact same way as yours except for the outgoing host I used the same as incoming with no username or password. Are you using port 25 or 587 for outgoing?

I must be doing something wrong because I am still having problems.

Does this only work on the inside of your network?

if so, should the incoming be your xxx.domain.com and your outgoing mail you exchange server host name and server name with your domain name with .xxx (i.e. xxx.nbs.local)
