According to Amazon UK the 8gb and 4gb iphone models will be available from August 20th.

Is there any truth in this??

I'd imagine that to be a provisional date set by Amazon some time ago.

October seems to come to mind for the UK release, i think it may have been mentioned at MacWorld but i can't seem to find a source - i'll keep searching

I wouldnt take that date too accurately, more likely an educated guess at the time they listed the products.
