Is their a way to turn off the optimization for pictures? it doesnt seem to work all that good in some cases..

I tried moving over a wallpaper (the clown fish from tiger)
i resized it and it is of great quality on the desktop, but their are a lot of artifacts after i move it to the phone...
the quality of the built in ones are so much better

I've had no problems - are you sure your source image is at 160dpi?

yeah, I resized the osx wallpaper in CS3,
to 320x480 160ppi
saved as a jpeg with no compression at highest quality
added it to a aperture album and synced

specifically in the orange fish, it looks like there are all sort of jpeg artifacts on the scales which arent in the source image

Hm, I don't have my MBP here, so I can't test anything. Anyone else have this problem? Also, is it the same one as posted over here?

it is the same one, but see on the prefiew of that image, the skin on the left fish looks really mottled? that isnt in the original image, and on the phone just doesnt look as clear as the ones that are built in

you'd better search other high-quality iphone wallpaper for use.

just tried something else this morning.. tok the aqua wallpaper, resized and cropped it...
added to aperture and synced it over, but the quality is awful... very pixelated
