I have 4 email accounts. Currently, there isn't any spam filter on the iPhone, so my mailboxes fill up quickly. But, when i try to delete those accounts down to zero pieces of mail, they begin filling up as fast as i delete them. I swear I'm not hitting the 'download next 25 messages' button! How do I stop that from happening?

Setup a spam filter at the server level? I've got one on mine (Spam Assassin I believe) and it works great... I was getting 20+ e-mails a day on 2 accounts that I had prior to having that installed... I got less than 3 or 4 a week now with that installed.

However - I think to answer your question... you'd need to check the settings that you have setup on the iPhone. I have mine check my box every 15 minutes... I believe it automatically checks everytime you open the mail client too... There is an option you can select that you manually check for the mail (my guess would be hitting the refresh button in the lower left corner; I haven't used that option yet)... Try that and see how it works.

What I'm looking for is a mass way to empty the trash. If anyone knows, please pass it on.

There is no way to mass erase the boxes. For a computer company they did a crappie job of designing the e-mail client. I think my TSR-80 did a better job of handling e-amil…
