Hallo there, I will be going to the states this weekend and would like to ask if it is possible to buy an iphone in US and unlock it and use it here in UK.

Yup, you'll need to unlock the iPhone once you get it home so that it accepts a different sim card. Many people have done this

Now Apple iPhone are selling in UK and Germany. Why not buy a new one?

too expensive the contact to get an iphone 3g free with o2 in the uk is £45 $82 a month i have a tmobile flext contract finished in november might be going with ikea mobile (yes they sell phones made out of wood and meatballs for sim cards,lol) http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_GB/campaig...ilefamily.html

what else is nice is the auto-detect of wifi. It you have Wifi routers in your house and work, you can use the internet for free.

well maybe not free, but certainly a lot cheaper
