How can I tell if it's activated or not?

I bought my iPhone off Ebay. It's 1.1.2 OTB, bootloader 4.6, jailbroken. But is it activated? How can you tell if it is or not? I need to know that because I bought a NextSIM v3 and I need to know what steps to follow in order to unlock it properly. So, if it's jailbreaked and activated at 1.1.2, I could jump directly to step 6? Could I? Here are the steps for unlocking with nextsim v3:

1. Use iTunes to 'restore' to firmware version 1.1.1
2. Jailbreak/Activate at 1.1.1
3. Install "OkToPrep"
4. Use iTunes to 'update' to 1.1.2
5. Jailbreak/Activate at 1.1.2
6. Install iWorld
7. Cut a corner from your SIM, combine your SIM and NextSIM, and insert in your iPhone
8. Run iWorld and select your location
9. Enjoy all your iPhone's features!

activate means get pass the activation screen on the iphone if you can see the icons on the phone its activated but if you bought it off ebay it was probably already unlocked try just putting you sim card in it and see if it works without the nextsim if not you can use the nextsim or you can use something like iLiberty to unlock your phone so you dont need to cut your sim card if you choose

If home screen comes i mean if icons appears then its activated.
