I am debating jailbreaking my phone for some time now. The only thing is, I dont know if i should wait for the release of 1.1.4 firmware since its supposedly supposed to be the firmware with the SDK in it. The only thing is, I can see apple charging for everything because its going to be activated using iTunes. So instead of having a lot of great apps for free, Apple is now selling them via iTunes.

If i do jailbreak the phone to use the installer.app can i still upgrade the phone?
I understand that its almost impossible to "brick" an iPhone as you can re-install 1.1.1 to "repair" it.

I bought a used iPhone that has been upgraded to 1.1.3(its been locked/un-jailbroken) from a previous version. What is the best way to jailbreak it with this "upgraded phone" as opposed to a boxed 1.1.3 version?

If anyone has any info/help it would be gracious to post. Im sure other have similar questions/ worries about unlocking/jailbreaking thier phone.

well since this post 1.1.4 has been relased and it does not support the sdk 2.0(aka 1.2.0) will be the first to support the sdk and yes after jailbreaking you can simply update you phone and it will work fine note: you will lose your jailbreak

there is a new ziphone that does everything for the 1.1.4 v i did it on my iphone like 2 days ago but i cant manage to install some of the things that caome with it like the open ssh so i cant use the apollo

have you tryed installing openssh from installer
