http://reader.mac.com/

Doesn't work in anything but iPhone though.

Oh well - 37 hours from now I can try it live.

reader.mac.com simply points to a page telling you that on your iPhone, you can plug a RSS feed into the URL bar to view feeds. When you do, it appears just like it does in normal desktop Safari. I don't use Safari to view my feeds, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that Google has a mobile Google Reader which it automatically defaults to on the iPhone.

Are you just using "http://www.google.com/reader/"?

Yes, but when you point your iPhone to that address it automatically redirects you to the mobile version which is at http://www.google.com/reader/m/view . If you pull that up in a desktop browser it looks like a standard Google app, but they've got an iPhone skin for it if you pull it up on your phone.
