There's reports currently circulating that Apple are set to release an updated Safari SDK that will allow for more options in creating “officially” sanctioned iPhone apps.
The new features are rumoured to include the ability to use local storage and possibly the ability to create web applications icons on the home screen. Developers will still have to use the Web SDK from Safari for development but it will allow for the applications to be stored on the iPhone and quick access via an application icon. Baby steps in the right direction ![]() Link
