Hi I have just bought an i phone whilst in spain at the airport which I was asssured would work in the uk. Sure enough I plugged it in started it up and registered it via I tunes and I can make calls and access the internet via wi-fi. However I can't connect to the internet outside of wi-fi, I am with Vodafone UK. It works as a phone but not for internet access. Do I have to configure something or have a bought a phone I will never be able to use fully unless I sign up with O2 ? Help from techno genius would be very much appreciated.

For internet access your sim has to be enabled to use the edge settings and if you use wifi you have to go bt open reach I think it's called and o2 the cloud.Both of these are accessed through safari.
Edge is pretty expensive so whatch out for a big bill if you use that.
It's almost worth shelling out for the new O2 pay as you go iphone sim then it should all be set up ready. Hope this helps
