If you can’t wait around any longer for the next update of ZiPhone, then you’ll be pleased to hear iNdependence have release their new iPhone 1.1.4 firmware jailbreak tool, iNdependence 1.4 Beta 5.

Built to work specificall with the latest 1.1.4 firmware, iNdependence is billed as an “easy-to-use interface for jailbreak, activation, SSH installation, and ringtone/wallpaper/application installation on your iPhone.”

The latest 1.4 beta 5 includes a full SIM unlock, as well as the following updates/changes:

• Added SIM unlocking on firmware 1.1.4 (using gunlock)


• Changed the SIM unlock warning to reflect new information with regard to IPSF-based unlocking


• Made it so that iNdependence automatically removes old versions of the RAM disks it creates


• Changed the credits for the RAM disk jailbreak method


• Updated the documentation for the new SSH removal dialog
