iPhone Cost Puts Off 94% Of Cellphone Users
According to a recent survey conducted by market research firm, Markitecture only some 6% of cellphone users are interested in purchasing an Apple iPhone.

The other 94% cite the iPhones cost as their main put off.

Markitecture found that a vast majority of those surveyed—77 percent—were aware of the iPhone, which they considered to be impressive for a product that has yet to be released. Slightly less than half (41 percent) of respondents rated the iPhone as excellent or very good, however, while 21 percent rated it as fair or poor. Among those who considered themselves to be "very" familiar with the iPhone, 83 had very good impressions of it. Contrastingly, of those who were only "slightly" familiar with the iPhone, a third rated it as fair or poor.

The company emphasizes, though, that the six percent figure may not be a bad thing. "While 6 percent may appear low for a high-profile product launch, it actually would be very strong for the cell phone market," Markitecture writes. "The highly successful Motorola RAZR, the #1 phone in the world for some time after its launch in 2004, achieved a 6 percent market share at its peak."

There's just waaay too many market surveys and analyst polls floating round, it's easy for people to say yes or no, lets wait until they have to part with the cash and actually get to see the product.

Then we'll get a real idea of %'s

These surveys and predictions are probably pretty accurate at this point. However we must take into consideration that the iPhone is an unknown quantity at this point.

Once it's actually being sold and in the hands of the consumers it will be a whole new ballgame. That's when things are going to get really interesting.
