AT&T Plan For iPhone Launch
According to a reported internal memo at AT&T, employees will be limited as to their vacation requests during the June 15-July 15th timeframe, citing the likely "biggest selling period we have seen in a few years."
Quote:
To ensure proper staffing during the product launch period, Sales personnel planning to take approved time off are encouraged to schedule their vacations before June 15 or after July 15 to participate in the iPhone launch.

Previously approved vacation will be allowed where voluntary rescheduling is not feasible

No additional vacation requests will be approved during the launch period (6/15 – 7/15).

i think at&t are gonna go 'all-out' for this iphone launch, hopefully they'll be able to supply the demand.

I also agree that AT&T will put the full force of their huge organization behind this launch. I think the three most important hurdles that must be cleared at launch time are:

1) Having enough properly trained employees to properly present the device in the showroom, to the customers.

2) Having an adequate supply of iPhones

3) Having the right amount of tech support in place for the purpose of insuring that the phones are setup properly for each customer, as well as being there to solve problems that may occur during the initial usage of the phone. Traditionally customers do not read the manual or the online help file. So learning this complex model, no matter how intuitive the UI is, will require some customer "hand holding".
