Apple Implementing GPS In iPhone 2.0?

April 11th, 2008

iphone.jpgA reader over at MacNN has found what could be conclusive proof that Apple plan to integrate GPS support into the iPhone 2.0 OS.

Hidden away in the notes section of the Apple Developer Site is a reference to altitude measurements, measurements that are currently impossible on the current cellular based location technology. The note fails to mention anything else regarding the 'verticalAccuracy' variable other than noting that it can be a positive or negative value, measured in meters, and that it is available in iPhone OS 2.0 or later.
