Later today Apple will reveal the full details of the iPhone 3.0 software update and the features it will include. There's been a lot of speculation over the last few months as to what we can expect from the iPhone 3.0 update.
The latest reports are suggesting that the iPhone 3.0 OS will be a major update for the iPhone and bring with it some rather special features. The rumours are suggesting that iPhone 3.0 apps will be compatible with other devices too - not just Apple devices.
If true, this would mean that iPhone and iPod Touch applications will be allowed to be opened on non-Apple devices. Apparently this would be achieved by using a 30-pin dock connecting socket.
More official updates will follow as soon as the iPhone 3.0 event gets underway.
