iPhone contact search and calendar hack

November 1st, 2007

One of the best things about the iPhone in my opinion is the ease of scrolling through the many contacts you build up. However I did notice that while quicker than the average cell phone, the process of scrolling through hundreds of contacts could become a bit tedious. Well this is no longer a problem according to this post over at iPhone hacks.

According to them iPhone hackers over at Polar Bear Farm have released a hack called “search” which allows you to enter a search term for a contact rather than scroll through all your contacts. From what I gather this is pretty easy to install if you use the installer app in the 1 click jailbreak hack I talked about here.

I think I am going to enjoy using this little app and suggest the rest of you use it as well. However as always be aware that changing any setting or software on your iPhone can have results that you don’t want, so think twice before using any hack no matter how many people tell you it is safe.

First of all allow me to compliment you on this useful iPhone related site.

Secondly, regarding the hacks, these look quite decent and I think that this might be one of the better 3rd party apps. Any idea of where to get them ? Tried the Farm site but all the links were disabled :(

Keep up the good work and please do a top 20 3rd party apps review :)

I believe you get to this hack through safari. I will look into it further but if you follow this link http://www.iphonehacks.com/2007/11/search-iphone.html
This will tell you more about it.

I will certainly work on a top 20 3rd party apps review, look for it after I finish the top fifteen demands.

Also thank you for the complement on the blog, we here at talk iPhone want to make it a great place to visit

Hey, I think the links just don’t seem to work on internet explorer. Only the ones on the about search page seemed to work on internet explorer. However, all the links appear to work on Firefox. (and I presume on Safari). Probably something to do with the creators developing it on a mac.

I emailed them the problem and they said they would fix it.

Try the links at the bottom of the second page:
