Telecom New Zealand's director of mobile operations, Martin Butler has suggested that an expansion to the Countries cellular network may pave the way for iPhone.
Butler believes it is a 'good inference' that Telecom New Zealand will bring over the iPhone. The company is currently building a new $300 million NZD ($241.2M US) GSM/EDGE network giving support for 850MHz frequency of the iPhone.
Due for commercial rollout in November the coverage is meant to reach some 97% of New Zealand's population.
