iPhone Second Generation Details

Engadget are reporting some new details regarding the upcoming second generation iPhone. According to their industry insider the 2nd-gen device is well into the testing phase with numerous units already out in the wild.

They also mention the new model could ship as early as July, although ofcourse this is all just speculation at this point.

Here’s some more details regarding the iPhone 2nd-gen:

  • The 2nd gen iPhone will be roughly the same size and shape as original model.
  • The 2nd gen will include 3G support and full GPS.
  • Instead of the chrome finish, the iPhone will be finished in a glossy black with chrome volume buttons.
  • Still no removable battery.
  • The device will be slightly thicker than it’s first generation counterpart.
  • The iPhone headphone jack will fit flush with the body of the phone.
  • It will roughly use the same size and resolution screen as the first generation product.
  • No solid word on battery life or storage capacity.
