Netflix Planning to Launch on iPhone?
MauraS

A Netflix news blog called Hacking Netflix has published a story suggesting that NetFlix is planning to launch its movie and TV streaming service on the iPhone. According to the report, NetFlix has been surveying its customers and asking them very detailed questions about how likely they would be to watch streaming Netflix content on their iPhones (and presumably iPod touches?) via a Wi-Fi network. Clearly Netflix are thinking about bringing their streaming service to the Apple device, or why would they bother to conduct such a survey? And despite the fact that Hacking Netflix reports that Netflix CEO Reed Hastings told Reuters that Netflix would not be appearing on the iPhone “in the short term”, the blog points out that Netflix conducted similar surveys before launching on both the Wii and the PS3, so unless the customer responses were very negative (which I can’t imagine they would be), iPhone users may soon be watching streaming movies and TV programs courtesy of Netflix.
