Ubisoft’s classic U-boat sim finally makes it onto the Apple iPhone and iPod touch for the first time, and it’s looking very impressive indeed! The game features an ‘immersive’ (no pun intended!) single-player campaign, with an original story set in WWII. There are 12 missions in total to complete as a rookie captain performing routine intercept messages for the German Navy, and you can also opt to engage other convoys that you randomly encounter. Also featured is a Survival Mode, where your task is to defend the NBB Bismark against wave after wave of attacking enemies. Players can earn experience during gameplay to unlock new and improved weapons systems and submarines. The game features 16 ships and airplanes in total, all accurately modelled from their real-life counterparts, as well as three detailed German submarines that you can control.
Silent Hunter is available for download from the iTunes store from today at an introductory price of just £1.19/$2.59.
