Apple iPhone SDK Press Event Today
March 6th, 2008
Incase it had slipped your memory, Apple’s recently announced ‘Town Hall’ iPhone SDK event is due to take place later today.
Due to commence around 10AM Pacific Time, 1PM Eastern, Apple are expected to unveil the iPhone SDK along with som new ‘enterprise features’ for the iPhone.
There are currently a number of rumours circulating around the details of the SDK with MacScoop reporting that applications created with the SDK will include some minor limitations, but will have access to both EDGE and Wi-Fi for data. They also claim to confirm speculation that Apple will be asking for a small cut of the profits for those applications sold through iTunes.
Lastly, they also note that the SDK will, interestingly enough, require a Mac running 10.5 Leopard and will function through an enhanced version of XCode to be made available to all Apple Developer Connection members.
Stay tuned to see how true these rumours are as we cover the iPhone SDK event starting in a few hours time, excited?
