Another day, another classic ‘80s game comes to your trusty iPhone or iPod Touch. Today it’s the turn of Paperboy! Yes, try and suppress your squeals of delight out there, I felt exactly the same way too when I read the news. If you were one of those who spent hour after hour throwing papers into mailboxes and trying to avoid obstacles on your wobbly little push bike playing Paperboy back in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, this is a very special moment indeed. UK developer Elite Systems has announced that Paper Boy will go live in the App Store on Friday 18th December “or soon thereafter.” What do they mean by that last bit? Don’t toy with us, Elite Systems! The developers are promising more details and a trailer soon, but going by the sole screenshot they’ve released so far, the game will feature both Classic and 3D modes. Here’s hoping that this new version is every bit as good as so many of the other classic ports available in the App Store.
